And though you wouldn't recognize it from their sound, the bass player (Chris Wood) is the same Wood as the jam/free jazz band Medeski Martin & Wood.

A little late this week but none the less here is this week's SOTW. I've been listening to (and singing along with) The Wood Brothers (Blue Note) a lot lately. I love their rootsy sound, smart songwriting and tight playing. I pulled this live cover of Chevrolet from Pickathon 2006 off of YouTube:
